First run

Platform notes

Linux

Use the AppImage without a system-wide install, or install the DEB/RPM package through your package manager. The installer can place a user-local launcher when administrator access is unavailable.

macOS

Opal is not notarized. If Gatekeeper reports that the app is damaged, clear quarantine after moving it to Applications with xattr -cr /Applications/Opal.app.

Windows

Windows support is alpha and unsigned builds can trigger SmartScreen. Verify the checksum before continuing, or use the portable archive.
